Frequently Asked Questions: 2×2 Photo Crop & Converter
Can I convert a photo taken with my iPhone or Android into a 2×2 photo?
Yes! Any smartphone photo can be uploaded to this tool. Our converter frames the image into exact 1:1 square proportions and sets the output DPI to 300 (600×600 px) or 600 (1200×1200 px). Make sure you look straight into the lens with neutral lighting.
Is 2×2 inches exactly equal to 50×50 mm or 51×51 mm?
2.0 inches is mathematically 50.8 millimeters. The US Department of State and Indian consulates round this to 51×51 mm (or 2×2 inches). European standard photos are completely different: 35×45 mm. Do not use 2×2 inches for European Schengen visas.
How do I print the 4×6 sheet for 39 cents at Walgreens or CVS?
Click "Generate 4×6 Kiosk Print Sheet" above. Save the JPEG to your phone, then upload it to the Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart photo app as a standard 4×6 inch print (NOT as a passport photo). Pick it up in 1 hour for under 40¢, and cut along the dashed lines with scissors.
